The CUSP Youth Volunteering and Changemaking Program is a space where young people can build connections, discover their strengths, and create positive change in their communities. Through hands-on experiences, skill-building workshops, and creative projects, the CUSP Program empowers youth to learn how they can make a difference while having fun and building friendships along the way.
At YWCA Halifax, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to feel valued and supported. The CUSP Program is rooted in equity, creating spaces where youth voices are heard and celebrated.
Our mission is built on inclusion, ensuring young people of all backgrounds have access to resources, mentorship, and opportunities to thrive in their communities.
The CUSP Program empowers youth to increase confidence, resilience, and skills while making a lasting difference in their communities through meaningful action.
Mentors are an invaluable addition to the CUSP Program team. Anyone who brings curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to show up for young people should apply. Mentors may join in group activities, facilitate (or co-facilitate) workshops, and participate alongside youth at volunteering events. In return, mentors gain valuable connections, fresh perspectives, and the joy of supporting new changemakers.
